Making a Change

You've been searching for a way to stop endless unwanted thoughts and worry, yet nothing seems to bring relief for very long. You are imagining a life where you can feel more at ease and can choose how you spend your time - connected to loved ones, doing hobbies and activities that you enjoy, trying new things, and feeling connected to life around you. You know deep down you want to change something, but might be feeling unsure about how to get there.

How Therapy Can Help OCD, Anxiety and Panic

Therapy helps with OCD, anxiety and panic by practicing a new way to approaching uncomfortable thoughts and feelings. This is done by exploring how you've responded to stressors in your life and developing a plan together to help you reach your goals.

Meet Amanda, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) in Cambridge, ON

I help people that feel stuck with intrusive thoughts and overwhelming emotions confront their fears with gentle guidance and support. During therapy, this is done with both talk-based therapy and guided experiences that support you in exploring and trying new skills. Together, we would explore ways to help you gain some breathing room from your thoughts and feeling so you can start to live a life that reflects more of who you are. You can learn more about me in the About page.

$155.00 per 50-minute therapy session, and payment is due at the end of each therapy session. You can pay by credit card, e-transfer, cash (in-person). The price is the same for both virtual sessions and in-person sessions.

15-minute consultations are free.

24-hours notice to cancel or reschedule. If less than 24 hours' notice is given, the session will be charged at the full rate for that appointment.

At this time direct billing ins't available, however I will provide you with a comprehensive receipt for therapy that you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. It's important to first check in with your insurance/benefits provider if they cover services from the category "Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)", the amount that they cover per session, and amount (total) available to you under your plan. Individual plans vary, but often your provider can let you know more.

The consultation call is a brief time to connect and for you to see if I am a good fit for you and the goals you would like to reach in therapy. I'm happy to answer any questions you may have and learn more about the kind of things you're experiencing that brought you to therapy. From there, we can talk more about the changes you would like to see happen in therapy, and support on next steps you would like to take.

When you schedule your consultation, you will recieve a link to join your secure session from the booking platform called Jane. If the email doesn't come through, please check your spam/junk folders just in case. Consultations are always done over a video call, and you don't have to bring anything to the call or prepare anything extra - just come as yourself!

These things happen, and sometimes there are events outside of our control. You can email me at amanda@awpsychotherapy.com or schedule yourself into a new timeslot in the booking calendar for a new consultation time.
